It is my belief that all children can learn.  My goal is to identify their strengths and interests and to build upon them.  I favor activities which encourage intrinsic motivation (the inner drive to learn) and a lifelong love of learning, as opposed to extrinsic motivation (imposed by others) resulting in short term interest and rewards to students. I am a native of Allegan and have attended both Hope College in Holland, MI and Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, MI.  My interests include all aspects of social studies, natural sciences, art history, problem solving, and promoting the enjoyment of reading. My hobbies include various types of gardening.  I enjoy water gardening, butterfly gardening, shade gardening, etc.  You get the idea!!
