Mrs. Thiele - Fourth Grade

Reading independently for an extended time and writing a well organized paragraph are skills fourth graders must attain. Michigan history and geography are a big part of the fourth grade curriculum. It is woven into math, reading, language arts, and more. One of the highlights of studying the Michigan government unit is the trip to the Lansing Capitol and State Museum. There is also swimming lessons and the ski trip. The end of the year trip to the dunes isn't bad either.

I have been in the classroom since 1992. My teaching career began in Allegan as an elementary physical education teacher traveling to various buildings instructing first through sixth grades. I also taught swimming lessons for 18 years for the school's summer program.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and have a permanent teachers certificate.

My husband and I have raised three kids here in Allegan. I enjoy traveling, rock collecting, baking and of course...a good book.
