I have been teaching Kindergarten and Young Fives at Pine Trails
Elementary since 1990. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education
with an Early Childhood Emphasis from Western Michigan University as well
as a Masters degree in Educational Leadership.
I have two married daughters and three grandsons. I t is my privilege and joy to see my daughters grow, to watch my grandsons develop, and to have had a hand in helping many, many children begin their formal schooling. Every one of these children have grown and developed in their own special way on their own schedule. This I know for sure. All growth is from within. This is true in nature. Every plant, every animal, every human is proof of this. |
In my classroom, I strive to include play. Planned Learning Activities for the Young (PLAY) can increase a child's capacity and intelligence. Studies have shown that movement accelerates learning. Play is an important activity all through life. As parents, grandparents and teachers, we all get extra chances to enjoy child's play. I believe it's a daily must for a healthy life! Now go play, have fun with your child, and watch their brain "light up".
