Mr. Berlin -Fourth Grade Teacher

  

Welcome to Pine Trails.  I have had the pleasure of teaching young learners here for nearly twenty years.

My family and I live nearby in Plainwell.  My wife Toni and I have two children Thomas and Hannah.  They are both attending state universities.

My educational philosophy is based on two principles.  First, school is a place where children deserve every chance to succeed.  Secondly, my students should feel safe and secure at all times.  I will do my best to see that this happens.  I also believe that if a trust is built between my students and myself that good things will happen in the classroom.  

Fourth grade is a transitional year from lower elementary to upper elementary.  Students are encouraged to accept more responsibility for their actions as well as their academics.  My goal each school year is to encourage each of my students to achieve and reach their potential not only as a person but also as a person.
