Mrs. Norland is a graduate of Michigan State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a social science major and a math minor. She also earned her master's degree in elementary education at Western Michigan University. She has taken additional classes beyond her master's degree to keep current with new curriculum and topics in education. Other things she does at Dawson include: before school supervisor, sys op, and lead teacher.

She is married to her husband, Derek. He is a Registered Nurse and works with Hospice patients and patients in the home . They have a son that was born on May 2, 2005 that they enjoy spending time with. They also enjoy traveling as well as anything Disney!
