Mr. Maxson's Class

My name is Randy Maxson. I am the teacher in this room, and I would
like to tell you a little bit about myself, my staff, and my students.

I am a graduate of Grand Valley State University, with a psychology
major and an education minor. I am currently working toward a master's degree in Special Ed. Administration through G.V.S.U.

I live in Holland with my wife Robin, a 5th grade teacher in Hamilton, and two daughters, Kylie and Keagan. I also have a daughter Jen who a special education teacher at Hamilton Middle School.

When not in school, we love outdoor activities. We enjoy all the activities the lakeshore provides including boating, biking, beaching, and our daily runs.

I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated, and caring group of instructional assistants working with me in our room here at Dawson. Marianne Harvey is my full time classroom instructional assistant. Kim Carroll is an IA who assists our students in both our room and in their respective regular ed. rooms. All the IAs who work with our students are dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring, striving to assist all students in reaching their full potential.

We have a great group of students in our room, with grade levels ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade. We are all very proud of the academic progress and achievements that we have achieved. We continue to become experienced readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists.

I am very proud to be a member of the Allegan Tiger staff. We have a dynamic, cohesive, and family centered staff who strive to have each student reach his/her full potential as a student and vital member of society.

You are invited to come and visit us, as we love to "show off" the many exciting things we have going on here in our room, and in Dawson as a whole. Feel free to call me at school or email me at rmaxson@alleganpublicschools.org with any questions or comments you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.
