MVE Nominees
CODE Orange/MVE Game
Community On Deck for Education is an Educational Foundation of APS sponsored event to generate school spirit and help support education in Allegan. In January, the Ed Foundation hosted it's annual "Most Valuable Educator" MVE event. Senior players on the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams each selected a staff member that they considered to be the Most Valuable Educator in their experience at APS. Each MVE was recognized with the student who selected them during a presentation between the two varsity games. In addition, each MVE was provided a Visa gift card donated by Allegan Community Federal Credit Union. Pictured are nominees Brad Fisher, Amanda Stegink, Catherine Hellman, Nichole Dykstra, Dawn Hoyer, Barb Kiella, Lori Layman, and Sallie Bladen. Not pictured Sarah Cooper and Jeff Turner.

Principal Feffer with the new bus
Eagle Bus
Last year, Allegan Alternative High School was chosen by Women Who Care of Allegan County to receive a donation for a school vehicle that would help provide transportation for students. After months of searching, Principal Laura Feffer heard about a "School Activity Bus" that met all the desired and legal requirements. As Mrs. Feffer was researching the cost of a used School Activity Bus, Mrs. Judy Graff of Women Who Care offered to buy a completely new bus! The bus has decals reflecting the school name, school crest, and donating organization. AAHS students will now have increased access to sporting events, field trips, and community service projects. The students and staff are thrilled beyond words. AAHS thanks Women Who Care and Judy Graff for their generous donation!
