The students will be exposed to computer applications and technology including internet literacy, on-line software experience, keyboarding review and Microsoft office (including Publisher). This class meets the state requirement for on-line experience.
Computers B Prerequisite: Teacher and/or Counselor recommendation Grade(s): 9-12 Trimesters: 1 Credit: ½ Students learn to use the computer in everyday life. It includes keyboarding, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and problem-solving skills.

Accounting is designed to teach students basic accounting principles and daily and monthly recording practices as used in a proprietorship and partnerships. This course is recommended for all students who plan to take business courses in college, want to own their own business, or wish to work in an office after graduation.

This advanced-course accounting text expands on topics learned in the first-year course while adding new topics about management accounting, cost accounting, not for profit account and financial analysis. The study of a second year of accounting helps qualify students for jobs and careers at higher levels than one year of study would allow. It is also excellent background and preparation for college business and accounting courses and business majors.

This course includes: advanced Microsoft Excel skills, a Microsoft Publisher teacher approved publication, advanced integration of the entire Office 2000 professional software package, Visual Basic and/or Web design and Voice Recognition.

This course is designed to give students an understanding of marketing concepts and its foundations. The primary focus will include an orientation to marketing education, business concepts, marketing concepts, economic concepts, selling, mathematics, and specialized or advanced-level competencies. Field trips will help develop and aid a student’s understanding of key concepts. An orientation to the co-op program will also be provided. This is a one trimester course to introduce students to Web development and design. The students will be taught general design concepts and the process of developing a Web site from sketches to publishing through considerable “hands on” experiences. There is an explanation of networks, the Internet and intranets, ad copyright issues. Learning basic HTML and the vocabulary of the World Wide Web is also taught.
